shy*play,workshop
shy*play’s Doing Neurodiversity is a three-hour participatory performance where participants explore neurodivergent tendencies through embodied techniques. The workshop questions the idea of a central focus and promotes decentered visibility. A 300-meter-long fabric will serve as a space shifter, facilitating activities like costuming, body wrapping, and drawing. shy*play invites those with a connection to shyness, introversion, and neurodivergence to join this unique experience.

Aion Arribas (they/them) is a neurodivergent movement artist, researcher, and teacher with degrees in Graphic Design, Choreography, and Fine Arts. Their work explores embodiment, auto-theory, and promotes a neurodiversity paradigm through creative practices, particularly at the intersection of sexuality and neurodiversity. Aion co-created shy*play with antje nestel, a platform that fosters neurodiversity as a relational practice, challenging norms of neurotypicality and creating dynamic forms of social interaction. shy*play is also associated with the Research Lectorate of the Academy of Theater and Dance.
Antje Nestel (they/them) is a multifaceted artist, teacher, and neurodivergent individual who shares their life with a cat. They hold a bachelor's degree in fine art from Gerrit Rietveld Academy and a research master's in Media, Art and Performance from Utrecht University. Alongside aion arribas, Antje co-founded shy*play, a platform that embraces neurodiversity as a relational practice rather than a pathology. Through this initiative, they aim to foster inclusive ways of living that celebrate difference and challenge traditional views of neurodiversity.
