FLAM III
April 15 – 20, 2012, Arti et Amicitiae
FLAM III is a basis for Live Art (bLA)* production and this year focuses on the exchange between Dutch and Brazilian artists. Artists will show their work and engage in rounds of Socratic debate, mediated by Rutger Emmelkamp. On the 18th of April, a round table discussion, open to the public, will take place at 20:00 with guests Tatjana Macic, W.J.M. Kok, Marco Paulo Rolla and others.
FLAM has the support of Galeria Vermelho, outLINE Foundation, Mondriaan Fund, Arti et Amicitiae, Central de Cultura, Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst and Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds for the presentation of performances in Amsterdam and São Paulo from artists of both countries.
*basis for Live Art is a platform for performance artists with diverse approaches. bLA focuses on the live gesture, extending the territory of performance art beyond the body, incorporating the environment and opening it up to a variety of different media such as sound, text, image, digital media, sculpture and painting. bLA’s ambition is to define a space that differs from the black cube of theatre and its traditional division between passive audience and performers.
basis for Live Art was initiated by Rose Akras and Dirk Jan Jager.
