This film explores how we interpret the world around us, crafting hope, expectations, and our identities. With a script woven from a tapestry of films, TV shows, books, and quotes, "The Will to Believe" reveals how cultural myths, popular media, and capitalism shape our self-perception.
Bio
Rosa Doornenbal's work explores personal and collective notions of desirability, morality, and success through the lens of gender and identity. She questions how we can trust our thoughts and dreams in a socio-political landscape influenced by neoliberal ideology. Embracing vulnerability and the uncanny, she pushes her work to absurdity, creating space for unconventional thinking Archetypes play a key role in her narratives, subverting stereotypical ideas of good and evil by drawing on cultural myths and popular media.
